The recently signed America Invents Act will bring many changes to the US Patent System including the conversion from a ‘first to invent’ to a ‘first inventor to file’ system. Many inventors and small business owners were unsure of how the patenting system works and what value a patent provides for their intellectual property prior to these landmark changes. Dave Bassett, President, Bassett Statistical Company LLC will review: the patenting process and the protections patents provide to inventors; how these changes to the law will affect inventors; and what steps inventors should take to preserve their intellectual property and the timing of these actions.
In order to promote a professional atmosphere, attire is business casual for all attendees.
Open to the public.
No charge for RPCN members. $8.00 for non-members.
