Allison Nichols

Allison Nichols will demonstrate at the next Irondequoit Art Club meeting, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Chapel Oaks, St. Ann’s Community, 1550 Portland Ave., Rochester.

Nichols was born in Rochester and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in 1994 where she received an Associate’s Degree in liberal arts. She graduated cum laude from Roberts Wesleyan College in 1996, with a BS in studio art/graphic design.

Her mediums of choice are a slightly worn 6B graphite pencil and bold acrylic colors. Other times, she waters down her acrylics to a watercolor consistency that allows the gray graphite lines to come through. She mostly works on canvas surfaces.

Nicholas is a member of Figurative Fusion, the Artists Breakfast Group, The Rochester Contemporary Arts Center, and The Shoe Factory Co-Op.
