"THAW: Before the Flow" Exhibit

Runs February 11 through March 25.

RepARTee Gallery

Gallery hours: 1 - 4 pm
Wednesday - Saturday

The work in this show will reflect the sense of gradual change that occurs before something new and better begins.... and before things begin to flow....effortlessly, gracefully..... softening, loosening, morphing, melding, growing, expanding....Come lift your spirits and nourish your soul as you view our many artists' impressions of this metaphor for change ... as we begin a new year; and as we strive to find balance in our busy lives.

The RepARTee Gallery is a proud member of the Regional Gallery Directors' Forum, an association of galleries in Rochester that offer mutual support and are exhibiting solidarity within the artistic community by sharing a common theme (THAW) in the months of February and March.

Community Darkroom Exhibit

"Meltdown"

713 Monroe Ave
Rochester NY 14607

Come see the work of Community Darkroom's new program assistant Melanie Couch. Meltdown, part of the citywide Thaw exhibition, features three different bodies of work, each taking a look at a reality that lies just beneath the surface.
    •    Pink and Blue takes a peek at the commercialism of gender programming.
    •    Shattered, a series of emotional equivalents, deals with the incommunicable grief associated with a tragic loss.
    •    Suburban Fauxtos, based upon a quote by Betty Friedan and the largest body of work, explores the high price of the American dream as seen through the eyes of a suburban housewife.

The exhibit will be up through April.
