53rd Annual Irondequoit Art Club Spring Show/Sale Opens April 28

Art friends:
We hope you have an opportunity to stop down for our spring show and sale in the basement (elevator accessible) of the Pauline Evans Branch Library, 45 Cooper Rd.(near Titus Ave.)  There will be 127 entries from 39 local artists.  Here are the days and times:

Thurs. April 28, 7 - 8:30 p.m. - Opening
Fri. April 29, 10 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Sat. April 30, 10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Library is closed but you may enter show from side door)

Your opinion needed

Hello all! I can not make it to the meeting this week and would like some feedback on a new piece I shot intended for the city hall show before i send it to be printed.The photo is as seen, 4 pictures together comparing different tree barks, all down Park Ave. Does it make the cut compared to my other work? Does it make sense and flow? Do you even like it? Haha, I do but that doesn't mean it's good enough! I would love to hear everyone's crit on this, colettegimour@gmail.com

Dan Neuberger Featured at Image City Photography Gallery

black & white & RED 
       April 20 - May 15, 2011


black & white & RED is an exhibit of photographs by gallery partner, Dan Neuberger. Dan's work features architectural images from the island of Santorini, Museums of Modern Art in New York and San Francisco, pastoral images from New York State, and dance photography.

Jeff Blackwell is exhibiting in the East Gallery and guest photographers are Peter Bilous, Jan Feldman, Jane Hopkins, and Burt Segelin. Award winning photographs from Camera Rochester competitions feature the work of Earl Jackson, Michael Parisi, Loretta Petralis, Sa Kim Tran, Jeno Horvath, and David Klass.

Rounding out the exhibit is work by Artists-in-Residence Jim Patton and David Perlman and by Gallery Partners Dick Bennett, Steve Levinson, Gil Maker, Don Menges, Dan Neuberger, Betsy Phillips, Gary Thompson, Phyllis Thompson, and Sheridan Vincent.

Opens on Wednesday, April 20. Artists' reception is Friday, April 22 from 5 to 8:30 pm. The reception is a great opportunity to view the work, to discuss the work with the artists, and to invest in their fine photographs.

First Friday Gallery Night is May 6 from 6 to 9 pm.

There is NO admission fee to visit Image City Photography Gallery. We hope that you will be able to visit us for another fine exhibit of exceptional photography.

Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester announces the availability of the following position:

Position Title: Marketing and Development Associate
Reports To: President and CEO
Date: April 12, 2011

Job Responsibilities
The major areas of responsibility for this position are:

Marketing
• Assist with all aspects of the Arts Council’s quarterly magazine, Metropolitan, including the coordination and management of advertising sales, production, and distribution
• Assist with the day-to-day management of the Arts Council’s website
• Assist the President and CEO in all areas of public and constituent communications, including press releases and publicity materials

Development
• Assist with meeting annual fundraising goals, including individual, corporate and foundation giving
• Assist with all areas of development, including prospect research, donor acknowledgment and donor database tracking systems
• Assist with meeting annual individual and organization membership goals
• Assist with the coordination of special events, including the Arts Council’s Annual Arts Awards, and various events throughout the year
• Assist the President and CEO in all areas of donor and member stewardship

General
• Assist with general office duties and various assignments as needed

Qualifications
• 2-5 years of development and marketing experience preferred
• Experience with special events planning preferred
• Successful track record in fundraising and revenue generation preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), Dreamweaver, InDesign, Photoshop, and donor database systems preferred

Education
Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred
